Can the Senators continue their momentum after the Allstar break?

Do the Sens have what it takes to make the playoffs? I sure hope so.

I can’t remember a season when the Ottawa Senators came out blazing after the midwinter Allstar break. Usually, they’re asleep at the wheel for the first couple games. And, who can blame them? A week-off to head south in the middle of winter. Sand, sea and lots of golf or fishing I imagine, is on the agenda for most players.

But what about us fans? I find myself searching the internet for any tidbit of info that talks about the Senators and how they went storming into the break on a four game win streak. Now that the Allstar game is over and the rest of the season has begun, we can get back to hockey, right? Oh no, we have to wait another 7 days for the Senators to play again. Why is that?

Sometimes you have to wonder if the league has it out for us. Nothing kills momentum like a 10 day layoff. So my challenge to the Sens players is this—Because we expect you to make the playoffs and because you were only six points out at the Allstar break with 30+ games to go, we, your fans, fully expect you to pick up where you left off.

It doesn't matter that the team history suggests otherwise. We don’t care that they’ve had time to unwind and relax. Good teams maintain their focus—They can party, play and win all at the same time. So let’s see it—Let’s see the Senators show their fans how much it means to them to make the playoffs and get this franchise back on track.

Let’s see their determination and desire lift them to new heights--I can't wait for Saturday night...
