TransCanada Plans Energy-East Open House in Ottawa-Area as Local Groups Plan Intervention

November 17, 2014

November 17, 2014 – Kemptville – TransCanada is planning to return to the Ottawa-area on Tuesday, November 18th, to host an open-house around its controversial proposed Energy East pipeline.

Local groups, including Sustainable North Grenville, Ecology Ottawa, the Council of Canadians, and 350.org, are planning to attend the open house to distribute their information and show the visible opposition of Ottawa and Kemptville residents.

Representatives of different groups will bring banners, flyers, and t-shirts to inform and talk to people outside the venue, and talk to attending residents on the inside. Spokespeople will be available for comment.

The open house is scheduled to go from 4pm-8m at the North Grenville Municipal Centre, 285 County Road 44 (map). Most participants are expected to arrive after 5pm.
