Promises, Promises

July 23, 2018

We are now starting to see important changes in policy and legislation now that we have a new provincial government

It is always refreshing to hear that someone actually does what he or she says they are going to do. Being a “man of his word” used to be a compliment. It is inevitable then, that some politicians are now using this rationale to explain or justify decisions that they make after they get elected.  Some go as far as to say that they have a mandate to carry something out because they were elected based on their platform during the election campaign. So it is no surprise that Premier Ford is now using the “promise made, promise kept” slogan to justify some of his first changes after getting elected. Just a reminder Mr. Premier. Fifty-nine point five percent of us voters didn’t vote for you because we were worried that you intended to do what you said you were going to do.
