Nathalie Des Rosiers to seek Ontario Liberal nomination in Ottawa-Vanier

OTTAWA -- Today Nathalie Des Rosiers announced that she intends to run to be the next Ontario Liberal candidate for the upcoming provincial by-election in Ottawa-Vanier.

Nathalie is a well-known constitutional law expert with a long history of volunteering. She has worked with different levels of government to defend civil liberties and constitutional rights, including pay equity and freedom from sexual harassment.

Currently a Dean of Law at the University of Ottawa, Nathalie has a deep understanding of the social and economic issues affecting the people of Ottawa-Vanier, and has been a strong voice for la francophonie ontarienne.  In her various professional and volunteer roles, she has worked on issues ranging from environmental protection to Aboriginal issues to workers health and childcare.

To announce her nomination, Nathalie made the following statement:

“It gives me great pleasure to formally announce that I am running to be the next Liberal MPP for Ottawa-Vanier and part of Kathleen Wynne’s team.  I live and work in this diverse riding, whose families and students all deserve an opportunity to succeed.  That’s why I believe in the Ontario Liberal Party’s positive, progressive and realistic plan – including free tuition for low income families, investments in childcare, recognition of our francophone community’s identity and support for our economic growth and innovation.  

“The Ontario Liberal plan is the right one for our province and I want to join the team that is building Ontario up. I am committed to fighting for the residents of this riding – on the ground in Ottawa, and in the Legislature in Toronto. The Ontario Liberal government has always had a strong presence in our community with and I want to continue my life’s work by building on Madeleine Meilleur’s legacy.”  

Nathalie looks forward to taking part in the nomination process and earning the support of the residents of Ottawa-Vanier.

Nathalie Des Rosiers entre dans la course pour la nomination du Parti libéral de l’Ontario dans Ottawa-Vanier

OTTAWA -- Nathalie Des Rosiers a annoncé aujourd’hui qu’elle a l’intention de se présenter à l’investiture pour être la prochaine candidate du Parti libéral de l’Ontario pour l’élection partielle à venir dans Ottawa-Vanier.

Nathalie est une experte reconnue en Droit constitutionnel possédant une longue expérience bénévole. Elle a travaillé à différents niveaux de gouvernement pour défendre les libertés civiles et les droits constitutionnels ainsi que  l’équité salariale et la défense contre le harcèlement sexuel.

Maintenant Doyenne de la Faculté de Droit à l’Université d’Ottawa, Nathalie possède une grande compréhension des enjeux sociaux et économiques affectant les gens d’Ottawa-Vanier et demeure une voix forte pour la francophonie ontarienne. De par son bénévolat, elle a travaillé sur des enjeux entourant la protection environnementale, les questions autochtones, la santé des travailleurs et les services de garde pour enfants.

Nathalie a émis la déclaration suivante :

J’ai le grand plaisir d’annoncer formellement que je me présente pour être la prochaine députée provinciale dans Ottawa-Vanier au sein de l’équipe de Kathleen Wynne. Je vis et je travaille dans cette circonscription diverse au sein de laquelle des familles et des étudiants méritent toutes les chances possibles d’avoir du succès. C’est pour cette raison que j’appuie  le programme  progressif et réaliste du Parti libéral de l’Ontario incluant la gratuité scolaire pour les familles à faible revenu, les investissements dans les services de garde, la reconnaissance de l’identité de notre communauté francophone et le soutien à la croissance économique et à l’innovation.  

Le plan du Parti libéral de l’Ontario est celui qui m’aparaît le meilleur pour notre province et je veux me joindre à une équipe qui construit et renforce l’Ontario. Je suis engagée à me battre pour les résidents de cette circonscription, sur place à Ottawa tout comme à l’Assemblée législative à Toronto. Le gouvernement libéral de l’Ontario a toujours eu une forte présence dans notre communauté et je veux continuer mon travail en m’appuyant sur les legs de Madeleine Meilleur.

Nathalie se réjouit de prendre part au processus de nomination et d’obtenir le soutien des résidents d’Ottawa-Vanier.
