Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Tues. April 23rd, 2024

April 23, 2024
City Council plans to spend $150,000 towards a comprehensive study at Mooney’s Bay Hill. They want to explore options to make the wintery destination an official sledding spot, a title that was stripped from the site in 2017 due to safety concerns. However, city staff is warning councillors that these new measures will come with a hefty price tag, and we already have a list of 10 recommendations that must be implemented. Kristy Cameron goes 1-on-1 with Rideau-Vanier councillor Stephanie Plante in Hour 3. She explains why this is not a wise investment. Plus, a class-action lawsuit against Tim Horton’s is in the works after the latest Roll Up The Rim blunder. The coffee chain has already said that this legal action has no merit to it. However, Vancouver-based lawyer Saro Turner argues that any form of compensation likely boils down to a cup of coffee.
